What the? Who let that in my garden?

So, we had a rabbit in our garden last week. I thought we were done with critters. But nooo... I was wrong! We were getting ready to eat dinner and as Caitlyn looked out the window what did she see? A baby groundhog! Just eating my romaine lettuce as fast as he could! Doug chased him away but he went under our deck! Is the whole family under there? They are going to have to go! I want to trap them and turn them loose somewhere else. Doug wants to shoot them! Can you do that in a neighborhood?

On another note today was Jordan's orientation at Morehead. It is a beautiful campus! Small too! It turns out most of his classes will be in the same building. Less walking for him. To bad cause he really could use the exercise! Maybe walking up that hill to the library will build up his glutes and give him a butt!
Seriously though he is going to love it there! The football stadium is small too, I think it is not much bigger than our high school stadium! Hopefully he will make the snare line although he is garunteed a spot in the percussion section. He said he is ready to go now. I however am not ready for him to go. I did tear up a little when I realized that he will actually be leaving on August 9th. I thought it would be later, but they plan band camp so that it is the week before move in day and the band kids get to move in early! :(

This is a picture of our lovely garden! I carefully chose what kind of vegetables I wanted to grow this year and then carefully chose the varieties! Then Doug tilled the ground til it was just right for planting. He waters it faithfully every night unless there is rain. He also checks for weeds every time he is out there! It is doing beautifully! We have already enjoyed the taste of fresh spinach and lettuce salads.

Then last night as I was getting ready to cook dinner I heard hem say "I can't believe it". He was looking out the window at the garden. "What?" I asked. "Look out there in the garden" he said. So I looked and much to my surprise I saw Peter Cottontail munching merrily away on our lettuces! I went out to get his picture and the little guy just looked at me and smiled! Then he hopped away, probably to eat the neighbors beans!

Doug said he has been living in our raspberry patch. I am going to have to keep my eye on him! I hope he doesn't decide to bring his aunts, uncles, and cousins!
Does anybody need any lettuce or spinach?

Summertime!

Woohoo summertime is officially here! Break out the bikinis!
Nothing new here really, just excited that it is summertime! Hopefully we will get to see some of you this summer!
Jordan seems to be extremely busy I hope we will get to see him before he is gone for good! Less than 2 months now, his orientation is this Thursday. Hopefully we will get some information about his housing and whether or not he can have a car on campus.
So... whats new with all of you?

It Really Happened!

Yep, Jordan really did graduate from High School last Saturday! We wondered if he would because about two days before graduation we got a call from the school saying he hadn't turned in his band uniform yet. That's my boy! They are supposed to turn them in after the last football game in the fall. He ran it over after school that day but of course forgot to take his hat too!
His school rents out this big huge church called World Harvest, we think it is funny that the pastor's last name is Parsley! The ceremony took about an hour and a half. It was a little longer than the girls graduations but he had a lot more kids in his class. I didn't get to many pictures because I loaned Jordan my camera when he went to D.C. and I didn't get it back til the morning of graduation with an almost dead battery! Caitlyn got some good picture though and they are on her blog!

I made his banner for him. When it was time to order them the money wasn't in our budget, when I had the money in the budget there was no time to get one done! That's called the Jordan luck! I finished it the night before graduation. That's called procrastination!

Jordan and his friend Brendan!

John Phillips Sousa Award for musical excellence!

Jordan's friend Ross, a comedian! This is somewhere in D.C.
