Christmas is Coming!

I cannot believe it is almost Christmas time again either! I love the picture Caitlyn put on the header for this blog, it makes me laugh!
As for Christmas lists, if anyone still needs and idea for Jordan he always likes hoodies. Doug told me he would like a new golf bag, he also wants to get a new driver (whatever that is) so whoever has his name could get him a gift card to a place where he could get those. As for me I am just excited to have all my kids and expanding family with me! Okay so I am also looking forward to making dip again, it feels like it has been so long although maybe Peggy would like to do it again! Alright I do have a few things that I wouldn't turn down. I would love a Wii Fit game (I laugh as I say this because having been working in retail the last 6 months and being in the electronics dept. I know this is virtually impossible!) I like flavored hot cocoas like hazelnut, cinnamon and dark chocolate. I could use some chunky necklaces in black or silver. Earrings to match are nice. And as always with me you could not go wrong with warm fuzzy socks! I have 2 pair on right now and my feet still feel cold! Other than that gift cards are always nice, I shop at Kohls and Barnes and Noble a lot.
Anyway, I am so excited to see you all at Christmas!!!

Hi Everyone!

I can't wait for the giant get-together at Christmas. It will be amazing!

Tom (Dickie for those of you for whom that's confusing) and I are finally joining the modern world and getting each other Ipods for Christmas. If someone has my name, I could really use something to play it through - one of those "docking stations" like they sell at Kohls or Bed, Bath and Beyond. I don't care what kind, or if it has any other features, just something I can put in my sewing room. I have an input for it in my car already, so I don't need a car Ipod adapter.

Thanks! See you soon,

Amy

Oh boy, it's CHRISTMAS!!!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry I wasn't at Thanksgiving, but I did get a chance to talk to most of you! Hope you didn't miss me too terribly :P

Ok, here is my list. I am basing it from the store Express, and anything you think would be nice is just fine! I have a few things that I like, but if you can't find them, or you find something else, I'm sure I'll love it as well! Not terribly particular. Also, it doesn't have to be from here; I'm just giving a start point. Happy Holidays!

Here is a list of things I know I like:

http://www.express.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=526&parentCategoryId=2&categoryId=9&subCategoryId=13
> Any color, though I think the purple-y ones are really pretty.

http://www.express.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=2262&parentCategoryId=2&categoryId=9&subCategoryId=13
> I like the pink and the orange, but again, not really particular.

http://www.express.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=527&parentCategoryId=2&categoryId=9&subCategoryId=13
> I like the red one, personally.

http://www.express.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=8605&parentCategoryId=2&categoryId=43&subCategoryId=180
> Only one color!

For sizes, I tend to run a small in shirts and dresses, about a 2-4 in dresses with those sorts of sizes, and between a 3 and 5 for pants. Socks/shoes, definitely small. I'm excited to see everyone!

It's that time of year again!

Well, family, Christmas is coming once again, the reason, for the most part, that this blog even exists! I hope we'll all take advantage of it, because otherwise I'll have no idea what to get my person.
Here are our Christmas lists:

Me: a professional outfit for job interviews (or gift card to a store where I can get one).
-a nice button-up shirt with a collar (doesn't have to be white, something cute but professional),
-a matching cardigan/jacket to go over it (maybe in a neutral color)
-black or gray pants (or skirt), maybe with those subtle stripes. I've always been a fan of those.

Anyways, I know it's practically impossible to get nice clothing like that for under $75, so maybe you could talk to my mom and coordinate if she maybe wants to get part of it; I don't know if she does. My sizes are 8-9 in most pants, and since I never lost the weight from Chaela, large shirts from everywhere except Old Navy, where I wear a medium. :(

For Will: (exasperated sigh)
-"Dark Knight" on Blu-Ray
Other than that, he's just saying, "I don't know." He's a fan of video games, but none of the ones he wants are coming out until after Christmas. A gift card to Best Buy might be your best option.

For Chaela: pretty much anything
-18mo sized clothes for warm weather would be the best, if you can find any
-12 mo for now would be ok, but she already has a lot. If you do get some, warm weather is still preferable, since we're moving to Memphis.
(note: she's really small, so these sizes are the biggest she'll need all year, I promise)
-Board books, really anything, but here are some suggestions.
*Anything Dr. Seuss (she already has "A Wocket in my Pocket")
* The Hungry Caterpillar
-Whatever toys. She doesn't really play with them much, though. She prefers to play with things that are NOT toys.
Disney/Children's movies:
*Beauty and the Beast
* The Little Mermaid
*Snow White
*whatever else you want. She doesn't really watch movies all the way through yet, but I want to start building her collection now so that she'll have some when she starts. My mom is going to let me pick through her DVD collection, which is huge, so maybe if you happen to talk to my mom she can give you a better idea of things Chaela won't have.
So that's my family. I hope other people start getting their lists up soon. I can't wait to see you all in a few weeks!!

Hey Family!
How is everyone?
I spent yesterday afternoon canning tomatos from my garden! I got 17 quarts! I told my friend Lisa that I had a lot of tomatos just sitting on the vine and she said well, let's can them. So she brought her stuff for canning over. I don't think she thought I meant that many! It took us 6 hours, definitely a job for two. I have one jar left over, I think I will fill it with m&ms.

Kristin and Jacob

So, I think by now everyone has heard about Kristin and Jacob. They postponed their wedding until December. I don't know the details except they felt that they needed a little more time to get to know each other.
The tentative date for their wedding is now December 20th here in Ohio. That could change as it is still 4 months away. I think it depends on finals and a few other things. I don't think they are going to make any solid plans until October.
Doug went ahead and took Lindsay out to Utah for school then met up with Wayne and Dickie to go fishing. You know now that I think about it he never says if they are catching any thing. Hmmm.... are they really fishing? And for what?
It has definitely been a quiet week out here I don't think I am ready for Jordan to graduate and go away next year. We talked to his percussion teacher and got some recommendations for colleges for Jordan. He wants to stay in the Big Ten. He is thinking about the 2 Michigans and Penn State and Illinois. Okay Doug and I are encouraging him to apply at Illinois.
There is one perk to being alone, I get to make what I want to eat for dinner. Jordan doesn't like chicken so I don't get to make it that often and Doug doesn't like green peas so I have pretty much given up on them also. So tonight I made oven fried chicken legs and mashed potatoes and green peas mmmm....
So I guess you can tell I am a little bored since I am writing about food.
I also made a pumpkin pie for my birthday! Mmmmm..... If Jordan doesn't get home soon I may eat the whole thing! (at least I didn't take a picture of this one)

Fall

So, I've baked an apple pie, worn my jeans two days in a row, is it fall? No, not yet, these last three days have been more hot and humid than any we have had all summer! I think it ends on Sunday though and fall starts then.
I think the spiders think it is fall also, there was one in my basement looking at me so I killed it! He should have stayed outside!
When I can figure out where Jordan put my pictures, I will put one on of my pie it is a beautiful work of art! And it tasted good too!

A Test!

This is a test, it is not an emergency, it is only a test! I was just wondering how many of you still check this blog. You know Christmas is coming soon and I think it is time to draw names! So, how many of you still look at this? We will be needing it soon to put up Christmas lists.
See you all in August!

Why is it that when we were younger and getting married, when we tried on wedding dresses we looked so grown up. Now when our daughters try on dresses they look like they are playing dress up?

hi family. its me. just thought you should all know that kristin and i are still alive out here in idaho and its finally warmed up. yup. so nothing new has happened for me. i dont know if i ever got back on and told you all what i changed my major to but its music ed now. heres a picture of kristins ring. its not a very good one becuase my camera started being lame so this is all i could get. but yup. thats all the excitement out here. kris found her dress but im not going to put a picture of it up here just in case jacob happens to stumble upon this blog. he cant see it yet. but heres one that she tried on and not the one shes wearing. its just really funny because she looks like a mushroom. and i giggled from seeing it. but yeah...so...thats all thats going on out here i think. for those of you who care it should make all of you happy to know that i am not dating anyone and therefore will not be getting engaged anytime soon. so i wont cause any heart attacks. haha. which is good because now im the favorite in my family because im not engaged. woo!! ok.

Chaela's Measurements

Hey family. I posted this on my own blog, too, but I don't know how many of you check that, so here it is!
Yesterday I was wondering about how big Chaela was, since she hasn't had a doctor's appointment in a while. It might not be accurate, but I measured her and weighed her here at home, so here's what we have.

Height: 26.5 inches (she's grown 6.5 inches since birth)
Weight: 15.0 pounds (she's gained 8 pounds 6 ounces since birth)
Head Circumference: 17.6 inches (?)

So she's grown half a foot and more than doubled her weight! Yay! I looked online and what I found says that she's below the 5th percentile for weight, right about in the 25th for height, and in the 77th percentile for head circumference. So she has a big head. Oh well, she may be small, but at least she's smart!

Nothing Important Just Stuff

Hey there family!
Happy Birthday to all you June birthday people! Peggy and Erin! Anyone I'm missing?
Are any of you Magnificent Mammaries going to be around next Sunday? That is fathers day I know, but I am, well we are going to be in town for some graduation parties. Olivia and Ethan's on the 15th and I am wondering if any of you want to do a training walk? It would have to be fairly early cause I think the party starts around 2:00. I think we have to go 11 miles that day. We are staying at Melissa and Daves cause April has the nerve to be going on a trip when we are coming into town! Rude! I don't know why she doesn't sit around and wait for us to come home for visits!
We aren't coming to town until Saturday evening cause Jordan is taking the ACT Saturday morning. So any way if anyone wants to walk I will be there. Are there any good places to walk in Morris?
I am starting a job on the Monday when we get home. I am not real excited by where it is but hey its a job right? And it is only 2.5 miles from my house. I can walk if gas gets any higher! It is at the Meijer store that just opened up. I am still going to be looking for something else because I doubt they will want me to take off the day after Thanksgiving (them being retail and all) and I think you all will kick me out of the family if I fail to make the dip again!
Well, thats all here, oh yeah, I had strawberries with my cheerios this morning they came from my very own strawberry patch! Delicious! They gave me extra energy for that 14 mile walk I went on. Will the training ever end?
Oh, and WOW Erin and Molly you guys are almost there with your fundraising! I am jealous although I actually have more than is showing up on my page I am about halfway there. I don't think Lindsay or Kristin are going so Sheryl get moving so I have a tent mate!
See you all next weekend maybe!

Tuesday, June 3, 2008

Hey family there are a few more pictures of Kristin and Jacob on my blog from when they were down this weekend. I'd post them here but I'm too lazy.

Thanks to everyone who pitched in at Christmas to get Chaela a crib. It is because of you that these pictures are possible! For further details, see my blog. The link is further down the page on the side. If someone could make sure grandma and Aunt Niece see these, too, that would be great!

Hello family!

Hello all yous family people out der! Mothers day was lovely, I laid on my couch all day whilst brad and the chitlens were in da basement. Okay, yes, I had a hangover from being at denises the night before. Cade graduated preschool last week so he thinks he is the big whip now. We are in the midst of baseball and softball hell, how does anyone have more then 2 children? I cant seem to keep up. Every night is something. So I started this new medication for my arthritis, hydroxychloroquine, and now I am broke out in a rash all over my body. My butt has huge welts on it and no that isn't too much information. So needless to say, I am no longer taking it. Probably back to methotrexate, go see the doc of june 4th for that. I've just been feeling really crappy because of the RA and haven't had motivation to do much walking but I have to get over that. And now with that, did everyone fill out the medical waiver for phase 1 of online check in? If not, DO IT, says your captain. Brad is in Seattle this weekend with Chief spending time with his brother and new baby, and instead of girls day all day tomorrow, I will be at softball and baseball and probably in the rain. But hey, life isn't about me anymore right! Erin and Molly..... kick some ass on your garage sale this weekend!

Later taters!

Mothers Day

Happy belated mothers day to all you mothers out there!
Did you all have a good day? Mine was very peaceful and quiet. I am still waiting for Jordan to put his clothes away as my present from him! On Saturday I went to Kohl's and got some new shoes for walking and some fancy sport socks! Let's see if they work like they are supposed to! On Sunday Doug grilled some steaks and asparagus mmmm....... delicious!
I have been slacking on my training walks, I did walk in the rain once, but I am not thrilled about doing it every time and all it seems to do here is RAIN! Today is nice and so I shall attempt to get out.
Doug is pretty busy so I don't see him to much, I don't like not seeing him, but I am glad he is busy.
Jordan is counting the days 'til the end of school. Already next years marching band season is here. Jordan is the center snare and will be tapping off next year, which for those of you marching band impaired people out there means he is king of the whole band! Just kidding, but it means the whole band waits for him to start. Right now the show is going to be Led Zepplin(?) is that a band or a person? I don't know and Jordan thinks I am dumb! Whatever!
The girls are doing pretty good, Kristin finally got a job as a nanny. Lindsay is working at a Subway. They are supposed to start fundraising this week. Go Girls!
Caitlyn and Will are moved into their new place and it is okay I think. Caitlyn went back to work at the call center so they will have some money to travel this summer and hopefully at Christmas too!
Th... Th... That's All Folks!!!!

It's May!

Wow, May is already upon us!

Happy Birthday all you May babies! Lindsay, John and Chris. I think there may be another May birthday but I am not sure who. Sorry!

Well my garage sale went pretty well. I made about $400 which sounds good until I remember that I am splitting that 3 ways! I am now wishing I had put my kitchen table out there too.

I got some good advice from a neighbor who did something similar to this walk we are doing. She raised $15,000 for pancreatic cancer. She said it is all about networking. So I am going to redo my e-mail letter and send it out again. This time I am sending it to everyone in my e-mail address book who is not on our team or involved with our team. I am going to ask them to donate and to forward it to everyone in their e-mail address books. Then I am going around to all the houses in the neighborhood and putting a letter in their mailboxes asking them to donate and then pass the letter on to someone else they know. I may also go into the next neighborhood and do that also. Hopefully I will see some results from that.

Also, I walked 6 miles in the rain today, it wasn't half bad. I found out my raincoat is pretty waterproof! I did have to change shoes after 4 miles though. I wore my more waterproof shoes to start out with but they hurt my feet after a while. So everyone get out there rain or shine and walk I promise you won't melt. After all I didn't and I am so sweet! :)

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Hmmm.....

Nothing really new to say here. I'm just tired of checking the blog and finding no new posts.
Saturday is my garage sale. A lot of people from my church are donating items for me to sell. We are also doing a bake sale and maybe sell bottled water too!

How are you all doing with your walking? I did the 10 miles on Saturday. My feet hurt! I am hoping to get some new shoes soon. If I tie my shoes to tight the top of my feet hurt too. So be careful of that.

We are waiting to hear the results of marching band auditions (although I am pretty sure Jordan will be on snare again). Prom was last weekend, but would Jordan go? Not in this lifetime! He did go hang out with his friends afterwards though. And then slept the day away Sunday! Oh to be young again! (no smart comments from you please Dickie!)

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

I signed Kristin up for our team this morning! Now we are an even 8 members!
Go Team!!!

Sunday, April 6, 2008

Happy Birthday to all of our April birthdays!!!

Kathy Bug

Jordan

Caitlyn

Molly

Did I forget anyone? I'm not very good at remembering these things!

I made and apple pie for Jordan's birthday, anyone want to come out and have some?
And, okay, I know this picture contains none of our birthday people, I couldn't find one, but these two do have birthdays next month!

Look I made this pretty ribbon for us!
Seriously people, I have a spelling problem. It is Magnificent with an E not an A.

Woo Hoo, I think we may be getting another member on our team soon! Kristin definitely wants to walk with us! She is very excited! Of course this means that I will be kicked out of the young persons tent and put into a grown up tent :(

I walked somewhere between 6 and 7 miles today, I think the neighbors are starting to wonder. I mean come on how many times should a person circle the same block? Maybe I should expand my horizons(literally) to the next neighborhood over.

I told some of my friends our team name yesterday and they thought it was great!
Peg, I think you are a stand out captain!

Tuesday, March 25, 2008

The Magnificant Mammories!

Ok ladies, I have set up our team. I would post the picture that we took, but I forgot my camera. So visit the team page at some point and hopefully it will be there.

By the way, Katie and I walked almost 6 miles yesterday!

Sunday, March 23, 2008

I'm finally here! Yay! Thanks Aunt Katie!

Thursday, March 20, 2008

Anyone want to go walking this weekend? I'm bringing my walking shoes!

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

i think you should call yerselves the Yabaho Sisterhood

Friday, March 14, 2008

5 days and 22 hours until Chaela (and me, for my parents)!

Thursday, March 13, 2008

One more week! Speaking of Easter, who is in charge of the big eggs? I have picked up a couple of things for the girls eggs, some Easter shaped bath fizzies, are there only 2 boys also? What can I get for them? Anything? Just let me know.
And Peg, I was thinking(hard to believe I know) if your shoes are pink and gray, won't they clash with our orange shirts?

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

I forgot, Yabos Sisterhood and Hooterville Hustlers!
Yo Erin, are you waiting on me for the invites for TJ? What am i supposed to be getting you? The wording? I forgetted.
I have been giving the matter of our team name some thought today. What about something like Magnificent Mammaries, then we could have a theme song too, like Bon Jovi's (you want to)Make a Mammary, or Mammaries in Motion, Marching Mammaries? Tatas in Tennis Shoes?
You can't wait.

Let the countdown begin! I'll be seeing everyone in minus 10 days! Amazing!

Sunday, March 9, 2008

Bought a new pair of Nikes today, pink and gray, gotta look good too you know.

Seriously though, if you are going to get shoes you should get running shoes. Walking shoes are made out of leather where as running shoes aren't and let your feet breath easier. Did some research on that and called Lori to double check. She said you really should have a couple pair of shoes.

Saturday, March 8, 2008

When I was young, we had a secret club called itty bitty titty comittee, how about that? We called ourselves the IBTC.
McBoobalicious
Hooter Mcboobs
McBoobshells
McFatty Masses

AHH I killing myself over here. Laughing out loud, people would think I was crazy.
let me know how much you guys want me to support you for...

and no i wont't do the whole 2200.

i will do a good chunk tho!

this is a good thing you are all doing.

Friday, March 7, 2008

Whoohoooo!!! I got $150 already!

Just talked to Lori too and she may walk with us here instead of up there this year.

Lets give a little more thought to the team name:

McHoots
McTatas
McPink Ladies

Keep thinking!
I just got Lindsay signed up too! I am excited for her!!! She would be excited too except that, well, she has been yakking since 1:00 this morning :(
I like all those ideas about fundraising, where are you going to put the milk jugs? I am trying to figure out who it is appropriate to ask. I am thinking about sending out an e-mail to my friends and asking them to forward it to their friends that they think would be interested in donating. It is exciting to think about this! Especially since I am in the middle of a blizzard!! August can't come soon enough! I am also thinking about having a garage sale. I saw the business cards too I am thinking about asking businesses if I can leave some for people to take. Has anyone talked to Amy or Sheryl yet to see if they want to commit?
I'm in! Just registered. Kind of pumped up about it too.

All those things sound really good. I will start formulating something as to a fund raising picnic or something. Maybe the Den will sponsor food, etc.

Alright ladies, lets raise some money!!!!

Thursday, March 6, 2008

Fundraising

So, now all we have to do is raise $2200. Yeah! No problem!
We are going to send out letters to everyone we've ever met. I think we're (Molly & I) going to do one letter to all the people we both know, and then a few individual letters to people who only know one of us. We are also going to make some kind of a small jug or something to take around to businesses & have them put it on their counter. We're not sure what we're going to use yet or what we're going to put on it. I guess just the basics...what we're doing, where the money goes, etc. Someone at our meeting did this with milk jugs that they painted hot pink and they went every 2 weeks or so to empty it. So... we were thinking that if you guys in Ohio want to do a bunch there and take them to businesses and we can do some extra for Peg to take places (Sports Den, I don't know where else...but I'm sure you can come up with a few places), then we could all (the team) split the earnings after we take out what we spent making/decorating the jugs. The ladies at the meeting said it was an easy way to get some money. They put it out for a week or two and got $70 or so for not really doing anything, that's not bad. The only thing is making/decorating the things...but we know you Ohioans are pretty darn crafty! So let us know what you think about this. We came up with a bunch of places (10-15) to take these, but we'll keep you updated on where we do take them/what we use.
Another good tip we got from the meeting was one lady puts little business cards in with the letters she sent and asked that people hand them out to anyone that would be interested in donating. She just had basic info I guess on the b cards, where to donate, what it was for. There are some b cards on the website where they have the sampe letters, that might be what she used, but she didn't really say.
We got lots of other info at the meeting...I took notes, so I'll add some stuff later. We also each got a short dvd. If you guys want us to send one to you...let us know. Or did you get one with your packet that came in the mail? Ok, I think that's it for tonight!
Okay, I'm signed up too! Come on everyone commit!!!Let's go for a walk!

Breast Cancer 3 Day

Ok people...we're all signed up - well, Molly and I anyway. Now it's your turn!

Thursday, February 28, 2008

There... now you'll all want to come to my blog and see what other awesome pictures I've posted! Amazing, isn't it?

Thursday, February 21, 2008

Hello! It's me again. I am waiting for my meatloaf to finish cooking so I am very bored! I thought some one was going to post some information for me today, guess they were to busy :( That's okay we are coming anyway.
By the way, are you all out there in Wisconsin land buried in the snow? I can send Gretel to you with a barrel of hot cocoa if you want! I can spike it if you like! How is the puppy? I am thinking about trying to convince Doug that we should get a puppy before Sherm goes so Gretel won't have a hard time with his death. I'm not so sure he will go for it.
Kathy, if you still check this blog, do you have a good recipe for white chicken chili? Dickie? Anyone?
Hurray! Dinner is ready!
Bye

Happy Valentine's Day family!

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

I am anything but lame, if I do say so myself!

I have a hard time believing that Kristin is going to be 21!

Way to go Jordan! 1st chair, YIPPEEEEEEE!

Caitlyn, hows the gallbladderless niece of mine? Still kissing that baby for me? You do have pictures that you are showing her of all of us so she doesn't get frightened when she does finally meet your Aunt Denise!!!

Love, kisses, hugs to everyone.

What a lame family, its February 10th and no one has posted this month. Maybe it is just February that is lame! No that's not it. Kristin will be 21 next Saturday!!! I don't know how that happened! Wasn't she just five?
Last Friday Jordan had his All-State Band concert. It was one of the most amazing concerts I have ever heard! Doug ordered a DVD so when we get it you all can watch it(you know you want to). Jordan was featured on an African drum part, during practice Jordan messed it up and stopped playing , but the director told him not to stop playing, so in the concert I think he made part of it up! Oh, and he was 1st chair!!!! What an honor.
Okay I know I have bored you all enough. We will be in town over Easter so we will see you all then!

Alright family, now the blog is not hot pink. However, for those of you who miss the pink, you can still see it in the form of visited links. And mom, the red should be good for Valentine's day, because I know that's why you turned the blog pink. Everyone happy? No? Then it wasn't me! Here is another picture. There are more on my blog.

By the way, I'm going to put a link to my blog on this page. If anyone else has a personal blog they'd like to put up a link for, let me know!

oh my gawd......

please lose the hot pink...my eyes can't take it.

For those of you that do not yet know, Treader developed a bad cancer and we put him down 3 weeks ago. he was an awesome dog and a beloved part of our family that we will miss a lot.

but we also miss having a dog around so, please welcome the newest addition to the Wisconsin McFarland's...

his name is undecided as of now, but we are thinking Berkeley, Hawkeye, Porter or Fosse.

Go Jordan!!!

Yesterday at solo and ensemble Jordan got a one on his solo! Yay Jordan! He really rocked his snare solo! He played something called Frenzy, and it was!
This picture has nothing to do with it, I was just playing again to see what I could do. Lindsay said she had some pictures on her computer of him playing but I couldn't find one.
Happy Birthday Dickie! You are still younger than me, but I am better looking!

Okay, now its centered. Thank you Caitlyn! It's really not that hard! If any one wants to do it, just make a slideshow on photobucket and make sure you share the slideshow and not the photo album. If you don't think you can do it just e-mail me the pictures you want a slideshow of.
Every one is good here except Lindsay, she has mono,HaHa, she should stop kissing boys!!!Hope you are all well!
